Amazon is donating cash to humanitarian partners and preparing emergency supplies to help communities affected by the deadly floods and landslides in Nepal.

Key Details

• Floods and landslides followed a glacier collapse along the Nepal border on August 26, claiming more than 500 lives with nearly 2,000 people still missing and many displaced.
• Amazon made cash donations to the International Organization of Migration (IOM) and the World Food Programme, and is assessing donations of tents, thermal blankets, and solar lights.
• Amazon is working with local partner DonateKart in India to prepare relief supplies and response plans in case debris-blocked rivers trigger secondary flooding downstream, including in northern India.
• Amazon can draw on three Disaster Relief hubs in India and its worldwide Disaster Relief hub network, and has donated more than 30 million essential supplies across more than 200 disasters since 2017.
