Amazon's water conservation and replenishment efforts around the world
Amazon is launching two AI-powered water replenishment initiatives in Brazil. These projects focus on optimizing crop irrigation in Minas Gerais and detecting leaks in São Paulo.
Why it matters
By reducing water waste in regions with severe water stress, these initiatives increase the available water supply for local communities and farmers.
The details
The irrigation project covers over 390 hectares in the Velhas and Paraopeba basins. Aganova's Nautilus system detects hidden leaks without interrupting the water service. Total savings from the São Paulo project will reach 795 million liters.
