
AMD Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs to Power Europe’s Next-Generation LUMI-AI Supercomputer
EuroHPC JU has contracted Bull to deploy the LUMI-AI supercomputer in Kajaani, Finland, using AMD hardware. The system is designed to provide 10 times the AI capacity and nearly twice the HPC capability of the current LUMI supercomputer.

The details
The contract is valued at 387.8 million euros, funded equally by EuroHPC JU and the LUMI AI Factory consortium. The system will be hosted by Finland, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, and Poland, and will integrate with the LUMI-IQ quantum computing platform.
What's next
Deployment is scheduled for the second half of 2027 at the Renforsin Ranta business park in Kajaani.
