AMD to Bring UCIe Connectivity to Select AMD Versal Adaptive SoCs
AMD will integrate Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe) 1.1 interfaces into select Versal adaptive SoCs. This enables low-power, high-bandwidth communication between AMD adaptive SoCs and specialized chiplets.
Why it matters
This modular approach allows designers to combine specialized silicon from different vendors without redesigning entire chips. It reduces power consumption and development costs while speeding up the release of new hardware.
The details
- Versal RF Series devices will be the first to enable UCIe 1.1 connectivity.
- Production chiplets are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2027.
- Versal RF Series offers up to 80 TOPS of heterogeneous DSP compute.
