NASA has updated the Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) challenge to help community college students explore and pursue careers in aerospace, science, engineering, and technology.
Why it matters
This program provides a low-risk way for community college students to gain industry awareness and financial awards, potentially leading to university degrees and full-time NASA employment.
The details
The fall cohort phase offers $500 awards for up to 1,000 submissions, while the spring phase provides $250 prizes for up to 500 top submissions. The initiative is administered by NASA’s Minority University Research and Education Project. Alumni Kim Alexander and Ashley Rodriguez transitioned from the program into NASA Pathways internships.
