NASA Welcomes Türkiye as Newest Artemis Accords Signatory
The Republic of Türkiye has signed the Artemis Accords, becoming the 71st signatory to the international coalition for peaceful and transparent space exploration.

The details
In 2024, Alper Gezervaci traveled to the ISS via Axiom Mission 3, while Tuva Atasever flew on Virgin Galactic 07. The Accords commit members to render aid to those in need and enable access to scientific data. Signatories also agree to avoid interference with other nations' activities and preserve historically significant sites.
What's next
Türkiye will host the International Astronautical Congress in Antalya this October, where many Artemis Accords signatories are expected to attend.
