Partnering with Khan Academy on building AI tools for classrooms
Google and Khan Academy have partnered to integrate Gemini AI models into classroom tools, enhancing the Khanmigo tutor and the Practice My Knowledge tool for the 2026 school year.
Why it matters
Students gain more interactive, visual ways to learn math and science, while teachers retain full control over AI-generated assignments to ensure quality and appropriate difficulty levels.
The details
Khanmigo can now create charts, geometric shapes, and parallel coordinate plots. Teachers have the ability to upload their own materials for Gemini to reference when drafting practice questions. The collaboration was supported by a Google.org grant and direct access to Gemini models.
