SourceOpenAI joins PORTS-Pike project
The project creates thousands of jobs in Southern Ohio and provides technical AI tools to eligible college students. Local energy ratepayers will not pay for the required grid upgrades.
- Secures approximately 8 GW-IT under a 20-year lease from SB Energy, dedicated exclusively to NVIDIA compute infrastructure.
- Project buildout expected to generate 35,000 construction jobs and 2,500 operational jobs through 2032.
- OpenAI and SB Energy each committed $40 million to local community funds, plus $84 million in Codex credits for 844,000 Ohio college students.
- NVIDIA will invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy to support land, power, and shell development for the initial 4.25 GW phase.
