Next Generation of Planetary Scientists Learn Public Engagement Skills
Improving how scientists communicate allows the general public to better understand complex space research. This helps connect specialized scientific discoveries to the broader communities that support them.
- SCoPE facilitated two hands-on workshops on June 25 and 26, 2026, followed by office hours the next week, focused on translating technical research into accessible stories.
- The FORCE Open House welcomed approximately 50 members of the public for tours of the laboratory and themed outreach stations staffed by the interns.
- A separate poster session let interns present their research findings to ASU faculty, staff, and students and receive feedback.
- NASA SCoPE is supported by NASA cooperative agreement award number 80NSSC21M0006.
