Amazon MSK now supports configuring custom domain names for MSK Provisioned clusters
This simplifies cluster migrations, scaling, and disaster recovery by allowing client applications to maintain consistent connection endpoints without reconfiguration.
- Allows defining a custom domain once at the cluster level and automatically applying it to every broker in the cluster
- Supports both ZooKeeper and KRaft modes for metadata management, enabling custom domain configuration on KRaft-based clusters for the first time
- Persists custom domain configurations through cluster scaling operations without manual broker-by-broker reconfiguration
- Simplifies cluster migrations, disaster recovery failovers, and compliance with organizational naming conventions
- Available for new and existing MSK Provisioned clusters across all AWS Regions where the service is offered at no additional cost
